The wreath is an essential element of Christmas decoration and earlier in December, we hosted two successful workshops on the art of wreath making. With mince pies and steaming coffee, guests transformed their straw wreath bases into gorgeous wreaths over the course of two hours.
Perseophone Violet was a wreath maker’s emporium this festive season, filled with everything one could need to construct the perfect Christmas wreath. Guests began by wiring the fluffiest of spruce onto a straw base to create a spherical, green building block. Into this went mistletoe, metallic sprayed branches, holly and other festive greenery. After that came the magical contents of the goody bags: cinnamon sticks, orange pieces, pine cones and last but not least, ribbon. Every guest was supplied with everything they needed to create a jaw-dropping, fully personalised wreath for their front door.
We had mothers and daughters, local business owners and newlywed couples join us for the event which catered for hardened green fingers and newbies alike. Their imagination coupled Emily’s expertise (which is pretty expert after six festive seasons in floristry under her belt) meant everyone left with a beautiful wreath they’d be proud to display on their front door.
Sadly, this is our last workshop of 2018. But keep your eyes peeled for new workshops coming your way in spring 2019. We have so many exciting things planned and can’t wait to open the shop up to you all for more hands-on activities!
Merry Christmas from Persephone Violet and see you in 2019! Check our opening times here
