On Sunday as a late Mother’s day treat for my mum and I, I took us both to a lovely hotel for a special cream tea. A week after mother’s day due to the busy floristry weekend it was a well deserved treat for both of us. Themed after the mad hatter’s tea party this was a surreal experience. Shown in the pictures below, the work and effort put into creating this masterpiece was incredible. New and innovative ideas combined with excellent tea (Chocolate chip truffle which smelt and tasted out of this world) made this such a treat. Who would have thought that a egg mayonnaise doughnut would have worked? or that the tradition scone jam and cream which we had left until last would be disappointing compared to the other tasty treats? The whole experience from start to finish dazzled our taste buds. From firstly being given tea samples to smell and read about before the crucial choice from the extensive tea list to each and every component on the cake stand. True care and attention was given to the overall presentation of the food and was very much an excellent array of culinary art. Chefs are like florist’s in terms of creative flair and passion to create either a fabulous arrangement or a plate of amazing food. Experience this tea for two such a heavenly experience by visiting The Manor House Castle Combe.
